For the healthiest carpet cleaning possible, wouldn’t it be better if it was cleaned just with water?

Doesn’t everyone want clean and healthful carpets & upholstery?

-Of course! We all do.

In that case, people frequently ask: Can you clean with just water?

-The answer is: Yes we can! …… and: No, you don’t want us to!

The reason being that water alone is not a very good cleaner as it will only remove water soluble soil. Unfortunately many soils and pollutants that settle on our home’s furnishings (soot from cars etc.) are not water soluble.  In addition, not all the water soluble soil will be removed by water without the help of some detergency. Thus cleaning with water alone will leave more soil residue than is desirable.

And all the soil and pollutants not removed by “water alone cleaning” is likely to be far less eco-friendly or healthy than the minuscule residue left when cleaning with green certified products.

Here’s our opinion, based on many years of experience and thousands of happy clients:

Cleaning with non-toxic cleaning agents that leave a minuscule amount of detergent residue, yet remove much more of the soil and pollutants is, by far healthier than a cleaning with water alone. It cleans better, deeper and the carpet stays clean longer.
